Educational Streaming Winter Shows for Kids

I have a few posts about winter themed books but I recently discovered that Amazon Prime and Netflix offer several educational options by way of children's shows. I understand that some parents don't prefer to include screen time in their curriculum, but I am presenting this option to the parents that don't mind or would like to include it.

Each episode has been linked.

AMAZON PRIME

  • The Snowy Day Based on the award-winning book by Ezra Jack Keats. Peter goes on a magical, snowy walk to his Nana's house to bring home their Christmas Eve dinner.
  • The Little Bird and the Leaf A single yellow leaf hangs on the bare branch. A gust of wind blows and it begins to float through the white winter forest. In joyful pursuit, a little bird takes off into a breathtaking flight. In the meantime a fiery red fox licks its lips in anticipation.

NETFLIX

  • Frozen Planet: An Epic Journey Collecting highlights from the epic documentary series that explores the entire polar year and the inhabitants, from the north to the south.
  • Frozen Planet: On Thin Ice  David Attenborough journeys to both polar regions to investigate what rising temperatures will mean for the people and wildlife that live there.
